A Little Getaway

Our long weekend getaway started on a gloomy , rainy weather. We knew it would rain but we still took chances. After all, one can never tell if Mr. Sunshine decides to appear amidst a rainy day. And you don’t want to stay home on a long weekend, do you?

Let me take you to a glimpse of our little getaway on the August Long weekend, but first , let me warn you. This is picture heavy. This is the point you decide if you are reading on or not. I mean, I was kinda hesitant to post too many pictures as that may bore you but then, I am posting anyway, whoever reads, reads at his own risk of getting bored with our faces.

But really, there are not too many.

Here  I am and my daughter outside Busters Bbq. The restaurant was packed that we had to wait outside for our food. I had to take the camera out because I want to remember that one long weekend, we drove 4 hours to Kenora, waited outside a restaurant in the rain, and that it was beautiful.

This is the first time that our little girl ever held an umbrella under the rain, and here, she seems to be enjoying it a lot. That is, until she got bored and began squirming around like a little worm.
We ate our lunch in the car. Then we headed over to the Thistles Pavilion.
We were scheduled to board the MS Kenora Cruise. The boat takes a tour around Lake of the woods where beautiful cottages and historical sceneries can be seen. When we arrived at the dock, the sky  was a mix of cloud and clear. My fingers were crossed.
I love how this shot of the historical post turned out. Dare I say, I am proud of myself. It made me feel like a professional photogra…. umm, blogger.
I love this shot too! Scenic, serene, lovely. Ahem! ahem! My husband claims he took all the beautiful shots when it was me who was holding the camera most of the time. But really, it was not me. The place was really beautiful, hence beautiful photos.
Yes! The sun did shine. And here we are, basking in its glory!

Finally aboard! And the sun is shining brightly. Adrian and I were so thankful.

Look at our cutie clingy! At one point while we were having breakfast in the hotel the next morning, the chef said ” Enjoy that little one, they grow up so fast!”

I could not agree more.

Dear sun, skies, lake and trees, You are magically beautiful.
Let me say that this is a #no filter photo. Not to boast of my , ahhem, newly discovered photography skills, but just to show you how naturally beautiful our earth is.

# no filter. It’s as beautiful as that.

This place is ever lovely. This is the kind of sunset I was aiming for so we opted for the last schedule of the cruise for the day. Just beautiful.

Oh, this is even more beautiful.

I thank God everyday for this life.
