Welcome to the second The Joy List! This segment is new, and here is where I share some of the things that spark joy lately which may or may not involve food. I love the feeling of being excited about something and, honestly, what brings me joy includes a wide range of things from food, moments, things, ideas, and really, just random stuff.

Paolo Coelho on Super Soul Sundays I read The Alchemist many years ago. It was one of the first books I bought when I first came to Canada. Listening to this podcast episode makes me want to read the book again. The famous takeaway from this book is the line “ When you really want something, the whole Universe conspires to make you achieve it.- Paolo Coelho.
Oatmilk Honey Latte I really don’t drink coffee, but I like sipping into something indulgent during the cold months. I am super sold on this because it uses oat milk ( cow’s milk gives me an upset stomach), and it can be sweetened with maple syrup ( I am loving maple syrup lately) or honey. I guess I wanted something that is better than hot chocolate in terms of the sugar content (hot chocolate gives me sore throat), and this is my new go-to indulgent hot drink. I make it almost every day now, and I enjoy my sipping time!
Easy Chili Oil Egg Ramen I made this and my family loved it that I had to make it again the following week. Not only this is very easy, but you can also level it up with whatever toppings you like. A time-saving hack is I use Jane’s Whole Wheat Chicken Strips to top it off alongside the poached eggs. Super yummy!
Completing Move: A 30 Day Yoga Journey This is from my favorite yoga guide, Adriene Mishler. Yoga in the morning is such a special time for me. I love how yoga calms me, grounds me, and makes me feel good. My body loves the movement, and it is like a balm for the mind and soul.
Encanto by Disney is my girls’ current favorite. Actually, I don’t complain having watched it countless times now. I honestly love to watch it over and over again. I think I love it more than I did Frozen. Like I told my husband, I don’t think I can watch Frozen over and over again, but Encanto, maybe watched it 30 times now and I am not over it. And I also don’t complain that the soundtrack is what is playing on our way to school and back. I enjoy it!
Rika Cheese Tart from Rika Garden. I was craving cheese tart the other day and tried this one from a local supplier. The flavors we bought were very good, not too sweet but really creamy. I love finding local gems and there is still so much to discover here in our humble city of Winnipeg.
Purchases
B Mat Yoga Mat
This is my first time to splurge on a pricier mat. But because I have been doing yoga for about 10 years now, it is now a big part of my daily life, so I think it just makes perfect sense to buy something that will serve for a longer period of time. This B Mat Yoga, which I got in red, is definitely grippy, very comfy and is nothing like the old yoga mats I used before. I am so happy with this purchase.
Lucas Papaw Ointment. My lips are crazy dry. They are chapping, cracked and I get cold sores all too often. Is core sold caused by dryness? Anyways, I randomly searched for an economical but with good reviews lip balm and this came up. It is not just necessarily for lips only, but for dry skin, and wounds and burns too, so I guess I can try it on my son’s eczema as well. I am just too excited for my lips. I tried every balm that I can afford and I hope this will not disappoint ( I just ordered it and will arrive this week).
Wanting to Buy
- Oven Mitts. Mine is worn out and does not really protect me from the heat anymore.
- The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz for my next read.
- A dozen of cupcakes from Jenna Rae for Valentine’s Day tomorrow.
And that’s it for now my friends. Of course always and always, I am here overflowing with joy because of my family, the blog, our connection, and your kind messages. Love and light to you all!
Ooo I gotta try the Honey Latte because drinking hot chocolate gives me a sore throat too. And believe it or not, I even use the sugar free one because the regular hot chocolate version is so sweet. haha
Hi Lainey! You will love the Honey Latte! Although hot chocolate is good, I agree that it is just sooo sweet .
